The Fight Ramps Up Across DFW

Other cities are getting wise to this and several county tax assessors REFUSE to enforce these unconstitutional “shake downs” by municipalities and local law enforcement. When will Denton wise up?

  1. I just sent our Tax Assessor, Michelle French, an email requesting that she not block auto registrations based on Red Light violations. Maybe if she hears from enough voters, she will change her office’s policy. Yea, I know not likely… I think we need to get this Red Light Camera issue on a ballot in Denton.

  2. Excellent idea, Tom. For anyone else who wants to hold our officials accountable for participating in this corporate scam, Michelle French’s contact information is below:

  3. I just received a letter from the City of Denton’s Red Light Photo Enforcement Program. It was a Default Notice. They apparently have decided to hold (for future deposit) or destroyed my check mailed to them in September. If I do the math, the $75 civil penalty PLUS the additional $25 Late Pay means they now make $100!

Strange that every single other check I have written was Received and Deposited EXCEPT theirs! Wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

    • Sorry to hear they’ve found a new way to swindle you. The $25 late fee has always been part of the unconstitutional ordinance but holding payment to force the late fee is a new one. Bottom line is don’t fund their corporate shakedown.
